The Importance of Celebrating Festivals

　　At my kindergarten, we believe that celebrating festivals is an essential part of a childs education. Festivals not only bring joy and excitement, but they also teach children about different cultures and traditions. Through various activities and events, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and appreciation for diversity among the children. Let me share with you my wonderful experience celebrating festivals in the middle class of our kindergarten.

　　

Chinese New Year

　　One of the most anticipated festivals for us is Chinese New Year. We start preparing for it weeks in advance. The classroom is beautifully decorated with red lanterns and traditional Chinese symbols. We learn about the Chinese zodiac and the significance of the Lunar New Year. We also make our own red envelopes and write well wishes for our loved ones. On the day of the festival, we dress up in traditional Chinese costumes and perform a lion dance. It is so much fun to move around with the lions head and share laughter with my classmates.

　　

Christmas

　　Another festival we celebrate with great enthusiasm is Christmas. We decorate the classroom with colorful ornaments, twinkling lights, and a beautiful Christmas tree. We learn about the story of Jesus birth and sing carols together. One of the highlights of Christmas is making our own stockings and writing letters to Santa Claus. We also have a small gift exchange where everyone receives a present from a secret Santa. The atmosphere is filled with warmth and love as we celebrate the spirit of giving and spreading joy.

　　

Mid-Autumn Festival

　　The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time when we come together to appreciate the beauty of the moon and enjoy mooncakes. We learn about the legend of Change and Hou Yi and how the moon is a symbol of reunion and harmony. We make our own paper lanterns and have a lantern parade in the evening. It is a magical sight to see the bright lanterns illuminating the night sky as we sing traditional songs and share mooncakes with our friends and family.

　　In conclusion, celebrating festivals in kindergarten has been a truly enriching experience for me. Not only did I have a lot of fun participating in various activities, but I also learned about different cultures and traditions.
